“We’re glad we were invited because we have been traumatized more in Bunia. The depth of the message and the verses he read today – we read those everyday but when Ross read them it was new. I need the workbook to teach as promised.” Bunia Pastor, DR Congo “Bless God for his Spirit which is active in Congo and America. We carry the traumatized on our backs. Those serving the government are heartbroken too. Blessing by grace…God has given us the way to tackle this problem and the session has helped us. Spiritual healing – we had already started something like it. Believers who confide in us are traumatized. The raped came with tears. Thank God for the techniques/methods to share with our colleagues. Pray for the visitors (Healing Streams) to come again.” Butembo Pastor, DR Congo “We thanked God for the invitation [to this seminar]... It was a message that encouraged us on the way to handle the situation. To find a pastor who is a psychologist is hard – This was a message not only for us but for all of Congo. The pattern given us – we will take back to those who sent us here. White people and black people together –friends together we should continue to help each other. Our prayer is that the Lord will push you to come to assist us once more.” Area Pastor, DR Congo
“Thank you for teacher from Canada and CSCODI. Seminar blessed us by:
“Thank God for this word. I feel welcome here. This is my concern as well - not only for Pastors. Step by step – I stayed because I learned this is my concern. Each of us are sick – I discovered I was sick too – and asked Tsongo for help. Thanks to Brother and Sister from Canada and CSCODI for methods to help and assist our people.” Oicha Chief, DR Congo “Christ is the water of life –from Canada to CSCODI. I have been blessed by the lessons. I came traumatized and I got my healing through the lessons. Before I knew Jesus I had a child outside marriage. She is now 20 years old. I never met her until 1 month ago. I was suffering and she was suffering. Since I met her I have asked her for forgiveness for not being a father and she forgave me. Pray for my child. She knows God even though she did not know her father.” Pastor Mboya, DR Congo
“We say thank you Lord for the seminar, teachers and participants. Each one has discovered the problem in their own life and how to help other people. I told my wife it was better for her to come – there is something in her life – she would be helped – maybe I will be able to help her.” Revival churches, Beni, DR Congo “I praise the Lord because we ladies have been blessed. I stand here and thank you. The lady from Canada – she went through rape – she has a great faith. This tells me I need to grow in my faith. I have received something I can tell traumatized women. We were having people outside the church teach us – we can now start serving the Lord with what we have learned here. We covet your prayers. A large problem here in Beni is fear. We suffer – we want to show up – but fear stops us. Pray that people can stop fearing and they can come out and be healed.” President of the Coop of Women, Beni, DR Congo “I work in the service of women in Beni territory. Praise the Lord he always knows the needs of his children. He knew the Congolese have needs in our hearts so he prepared this teacher. Leaders are wounded – we must be healed before we help others – we each must be examples. We are grateful for the Canadians who came. God has given them a heart for Congo. We pray for the blessings of God. May God increase your heart for us in Congo. I have been very blessed. Trainers (participants) – we already have teaching – let us go to our families and then to Judea and elsewhere. When we have been healed then we can heal – do not keep quiet – go everywhere.” Leader of NGO, Beni, DR Congo “I praise the Lord that I could participate. I was away in the field at the start. Women are very traumatized. We were taught and we want to help. The capacity will grow as we go with the work. In 2004 when we started and met women who were raped we did not know what to do and the Lord helped us. Since then we have identified over 1000 abused women and most of them are broken because their community has rejected them and chased them away. We asked husbands, “What if it was your wife?” Men tell us they would chase away the women. I praise God that so many participants are men. We are grateful to know that the first medicine for a traumatized woman is the love of her husband.” Leader of NGO supporting women, Beni, DR Congo "I am very grateful for the Seminar and for our beloved teachers from Canada. Our problem is that we need to recognize that the trauma of women is not only sexual – women have many problems. Our service is to all aspects of women. We don’t know how to reach traumatized women who are not sexually traumatized. Many are dying due to difficulties because they are husbandless and alone. We allow children to marry when very young and when older the man chases away the first wife and takes another wife. We are grateful that you will not forget us in your prayers." Jeanne Therese, Officer in the Department of Women and Families, Beni, DR Congo“ I work in the service of women in Beni territory. Praise the Lord he always knows the needs of his children.
